Review Willows Bistro

Willows Bistro, Winston-Salem, NC 300 South Liberty Street ,  Suite 125 ,  Winston Salem ,  NC We stopped here to eat before going to the Children's Museum of Winston-Salem because it was in the same parking lot. It is a unique little restaurant. With tasty and interesting entrees. The staff was nice. The place was clean and decorated with what looked like a local artist's paintings. The paintings were for sale. We enjoyed our meal. Visited July 2014 Rating 4/5

Cheddar's Casual Cafe Review

Cheddar's restaurant just opened in McDonough, GA. We took our daughter for birthday. We went straight after school on Monday because I had driven by Cheddars on several occasions and its parking lot is always full. Fortunately, I picked the right time. We were seated right away. The staff  were friendly and the service quick. I had gone online and looked at the menu so we ordered our food as soon as we sat down. It came out quickly and was delicious. The children ordered chicken fingers, fries and Sprite. I ordered the New Orleans Pasta and Peach Tea. My husband ordered the Braised Fall-of-the-Bone Roast and Raspberry Lemonade. My Peach Tea was a little too sweet for me. Our server immediately offered a different drink. I ordered a Mango Tea. It was too sweet as well. For dessert, my daughter ordered the Hot Fudge Cake Sundae. It should’ve been called Chocolate Death. It was a huge piece of cake, moist and delicious. We all shared it. Then my husband had the mini Key Lim...

Review: Shane's Rib Shack

Image
We went to the Shane's Rib Shack in Locust Grove, GA on family dine out night on Wednesday. It was around 5 or 6 pm and it was not very busy. But more people ordered carry-out than sat in so it was moderately busy. This was my second time ordering and my first time eating in. We had half a chicken last time and it tasted alright. It is a casual atmosphere that reminds me of a roadside restaurant or barn-themed restaurant. They did have an area that looked like a barn inside the dining room and the bathrooms were labeled as "Outhouses." There was a flat screen televisions mounted on the wall. We ordered the food from a huge menu taking up almost an entire wall near the entrance. I ordered BBQ chicken plate with okra and macaroni and cheese. My husband had a Shack Sampler meal with pulled chicken, 1/4 rack of ribs, and two chicken tenders with okra and Brunswick stew. My daughter had a kid's plate with macaroni and baked beans. I shared my chicken with her. They wer...

Yuki Japanese Restaurant Review

Image
I went with my sisters for a Girls' Night Out to Yuki Japanese Restaurant. This was my first experience with the grill where the chef prepares the food right in front of you. I did not know what to order so I went with one of my sisters' recommendation and ordered Chicken and Shrimp Hibachi. I also shared an appetizer of sushi-like rolls but they had cooked salmon and chicken. I also had a virgin strawberry daiquiri. Delicious. The server took our drink and food orders and then we were served in courses: drinks, appetizer, soup, salad, rice, meat. Everything was tasty and we did not have to wait long. The chef went by the name of Rambo and he cracked jokes and made us ooh and ahh by starting small fires on the grill. But they were pretty fires. He kept us entertained and although he made the fires shoot straight up, I retained what was left of my eyebrows. A bit of advice: Don't get your brows arched while holding a kid on your lap. But back to the meal. I was practically f...

Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen Review

My husband took me out to dinner for my birthday without the kids. Someone at his job recommended it so we thought we would try it out. We drove about an hour plus to get there. We live south of Atlanta and all 3 restaurants in our area are north of Atlanta: Norcross, Marietta and Alpharetta. We went to the one in Norcross. It was right off of I-85 and was easy to find. Great! The outside was beautiful. I am sure it would have looked even better during the summer. There were tables outside, tropical plants, ceiling fans, and a pretty fountain in the middle of a courtyard before you get to the front door. It was a pretty big place. It was not that crowded for a Wednesday night, but it was by no means empty. Inside was darkened a bit for ambience I suppose. The tables were not too close together and there was a bar as well. We were seated right away and our server was there within minutes. She was very polite and quick. I asked what I should try because I had never been there before and ...
