Thanks to the wonderful people at http://www.slcl.org/teens/blog/ I got an ARC so my review will be up at that website soon.  Because thats my county library blog, I decided to leave out some things, so I sound less like a weirdo.

Thanks also to Regan Coomer who I got some Beautiful Darkness swag from!  You should check out her blog, she has a contest going on where you can win an ARC of Gathering Darkness by Kelley Armstrong.

Summary (from Goodreads):
Ethan Wate used to think of Gatlin, the small Southern town he had always called home, as a place where nothing ever changed. Then he met mysterious newcomer Lena Duchannes, who revealed a secret world that had been hidden in plain sight all along. A Gatlin that harbored ancient secrets beneath its moss-covered oaks and cracked sidewalks. A Gatlin where a curse has marked Lena's family of powerful supernaturals for generations. A Gatlin where impossible, magical, life-altering events happen.

Sometimes life-ending.

Together they can face anything Gatlin throws at them, but after suffering a tragic loss, Lena starts to pull away, keeping secrets that test their relationship. And now that Ethan's eyes have been opened to the darker side of Gatlin, there's no going back. Haunted by strange visions only he can see, Ethan is pulled deeper into his town's tangled history and finds himself caught up in the dangerous network of underground passageways endlessly crisscrossing the South, where nothing is as it seems.

My thoughts:
Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl have done it again.  Sequels are usually a hit or miss, and Beautiful Darkness manages to be as good, if not better than its predecessor.  Personally, I think the Caster Chronicles series is a literary masterpiece.  (I may be stretching it a little).  But seriously, these books are phenomenally and beautifully written.

Beautiful Darkness picks up right where Beautiful Creatures ends, and brings us back to the little southern town of Gatlin County that we all love to hate.

This book is truly an emotional roller coaster from start to finish.  All your favorite characters from the first book have returned, and there are also new characters as well! (John Breed... sa-wooon) The ending left me wanting more and I am very excited for the next book!

I would recommend it for those who loved Beautiful Creatures or anyone who is in need of a good book, but because this is a sequel, I would recommend reading the first book first.  If you weren't a fan of the first book, I would still give Beautiful Darkness a try!

Overall: 4.5/5 :D Sometimes it gets a little slow because it is a long book, but I loved it!  Like I said a million times already, the writing is fantastic!
