JanSwanberg had her first story published in The Oakland Tribune when she was eight years old, and she's been writing fr children ever since! In her free time, she enjoys adventure travel, tennis, and dance. She lives with her husband and two children, Ben and Leslie, in northern California.

Ron Lipking has illustrated more than a dozen books for children, including Old-Fashioned Christmas (a pop-up carousel book), Silent Night, Jingle Bells, and Deckthe Halls (all pop-up books of songs), and Siney Funworks' The Wacky Farm series. He has also illustrated for Spider, Cricket, and Sesame Street magazines. Mr. Lipking lives ins southern California with his four children, his wife, Cathy, and a horse named Cinder.

My Thoughts:
The Race is a book about cars racing. It rhymes a lot. It is definately meant for young kids. Its a good book to help kids learn how to read and I think it will be one that can't be put down once the children know it.
